ABOUT US

Cecilia Owsley is Principal Consultant at Nightingale, where she helps assisted living, behavioral health, community-based care, and healthcare organizations strengthen their operations, compliance, quality of care, and the sustainability of the leaders and teams behind it.

​

She brings over 25 years of healthcare leadership experience, having served as COO, CNO, Executive Director, and Director of Nursing in assisted living and community-based care settings, alongside bedside and leadership roles in acute care. This full-spectrum path — from caregiver through executive leadership — gives her a ground-level understanding of the operational and regulatory realities care organizations face, and the toll those realities take on the people leading through them.

She is a proud Gonzaga MSN alumna, NCAL 2023 Leader of the Year, a Malcolm Baldrige Quality Award recipient, and an active advocate, and presenter through state and national associations and committees.

​

Cecilia also serves as a Nursing Assistant Certified Program Director and adjunct nursing instructor at the local community college, where she shapes the next generation of caregivers through curriculum development, skills training, and hands-on clinical instruction.

​

Cecilia leads Nightingale's Organizational Wellness practice, where she works with healthcare and long-term care leadership teams to confront burnout at its root, build cultures that retain talent, and design whole-person wellness strategies with the same operational rigor typically reserved for patient and resident care. A Certified Yoga Teacher with advanced training in breathwork and somatic practice, she brings both clinical leadership credibility and specialized wellness training to this work — a combination that lets her address organizational culture and regulatory operations as a single, connected system rather than two separate problems.

Outside of her professional work, Cecilia has spent over a decade in community service, including work with the Alzheimer's Association and youth mentorship. At Nightingale, she combines deep regulatory fluency with expertise in leadership development, clinical operations, and nursing education — paired with a genuine passion for mental health advocacy and organizational wellness — to help healthcare organizations build environments that are compliant, sustainable, and truly person-centered, for staff and residents alike.

Darren Owsley is a seasoned technology leader with over 20 years of experience in enterprise IT, cybersecurity, and systems leadership.

He currently serves as Deputy CIO and Chief Information Security Officer at Gonzaga University, a role he stepped into in 2024, where he oversees technology operations and leads the university's security strategy. Since joining Gonzaga in 2012, he advanced through progressive leadership roles, including Chief Technology Officer from 2016 to 2023, before stepping into his current combined technology and security leadership role.

Darren brings that same depth to long-term care and community-based care organizations, most of which are managing significant technology and compliance demands. He guides new and growing communities through secure infrastructure planning, leads EHR platform implementation and system integration, and conducts cybersecurity and compliance assessments built around how communities actually operate. He also advises leadership teams on vendor selection and incident readiness, helping ensure that technology decisions hold up under the realities of daily care delivery.

A graduate of the University of Idaho with a degree in Business Information Systems, Darren has furthered his leadership expertise through professional development programs with the NorthWest Academic Computing Consortium and Gonzaga University.
